Who Is That Band?

That may be the question of the year during fall competitions this season. The Blackhawk Brigade will be almost unrecognizable this competition season. The band has been fortunate enough to purchase new band uniforms, new guard uniforms, new flags, and new props for the 2005 season. The school board also approved a new instrument purchase that will bring forty-five new instruments to the band program.

In addition to the new on the field items, there will also be some changes in the parking lot. Thanks to an anonymous donor, the band has a new semi trailer to haul equipment to contest. A semi tractor has also been donated to pull the trailer. The new trailer and tractor have been painted black and logo designs are currently being approved. But it doesn’t stop there, the band also purchased a new smaller trailer to use at the end of last season.

Finally, the band will be practicing in a new location this season. It has yet to be determined exactly were that location will be. However, in the future a new field with a tower and lights is planned.

So, when you ask yourself, “Who is that Band”? Just remember it is the new and improved Blackhawk Brigade.
