Three Mello's, One Sound

FRENCH LICK, Ind. – The 2009 mellophone section consists of three remarkable young students. Their names are Nia S., Nathan A., and Jesse H..

Our rookie is Jesse. Jess is an eighth grader. However, she marches like a senior. No matter how early it ever may be, Jess is always there early and believe me when I say she is so hyper and full of energy that you just cannot help but to smile.

Nathan, also an eighth grader, but this is his second season with the Brigade. He is by far very musically talented. He always practices as if it was a performance and never lets up. In addition, if you ever want to pull a good prank on someone, he is the person to go to!

I, Nia, am a sophomore and the section leader of the mellophones. This is my fourth season with the Brigade. I am very proud of my section this year and cannot wait to find out how it all ends.

Together, the mellphones continue to keep focus and impress anyone who watches us. Through all the frustration and pain in those long night rehearsals, it is all worth it in the end. We are quite the team.
