The Springs Valley Blackhawk Brigade opened
up their 2006 contest season with a second place finish
at the 26th Annual Heritage Hills contest on Saturday Evening.
Springs Valley also won the best percussion and auxiliary
caption awards and tied for best music with the Pride of
Paoli.
This year’s show, entitled “Clocks,”
by John Meehan, is a very upbeat and exiting show. "I
was very pleased with the performance Saturday. The students
were energetic and the show was exciting,” stated
Springs Valley Director of Bands Luke Aylsworth.
Springs Valley came out to a huge ovation
by the Springs Valley fans and others at Heritage Hills.
This has a lot to due with the excellent record of accomplishment
the Brigade has produced over the last two years. Aylsworth
said, “"We have a great group of staff, band
boosters and senior leaders. Our high level of achievement
is due to their hard work and dedication."
The band hosted a community show earlier
on Saturday. Near 150 parents and fans in attendance as
the Brigade performed their show and highlighted some areas
for the fans.
With that said, the Brigade travels up
to Paoli to participate in the annual Pride of Paoli Invitational.
Springs Valley will perform later in the evening on Saturday.
