Two Earn Division I Gold, advance to State Event

JASPER, Indiana – The Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) held their annual Solo and Ensemble District at the 5th Street School in Jasper. Kyle and Drew both received Division I gold, qualifing them for the state event in two weeks in Indianapolis.

Kyle is making his first apperance to the state event with his trumpet solo while Drew is making his second with his snare drum solo. "We were very proud of all the students that participated,” stated Director of Bands at Springs Valley Luke Aylsworth. “It was a great experience. Particularly, we want to congratulate Drew and Kyle who qualified for State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Indianapolis."

All Springs Valley students who participated in this year’s event came home with either a gold or silver in their solo or ensemble category.

The state Solo & Ensemble event will be held in Indianapolis at North Central High School on February 23.
