'3
Generations' of Emotion
By: John Aylsworth
SV Brigade Staff Member
The Three Generations Show is dedicated
to the band students from eight different decades in the
Springs Valley community. They have given of their time
and talents to proudly represent our local schools in countless
parades, concerts, basketball games, pep sessions, patriotic
events, football games and community projects. Their faces
stare back at us from old black and white photographs. as
well as, more modern color digital prints. They are united
over the generations, however, with the pride, dedication,
hard work and love of music they uniquely share. Whether
it was a concert at the old Wells Lot Bandstand, a 1943
patriotic parade, a basketball floor show at the old French
Lick H. S. gym, marching down the Boulevard in West Baden
for the Pumpkin Festival Parade or the caravan with lights
flashing and sirens wailing after a return from state finals,
it is the children of almost seventy years that we celebrate
with the 2007 Three Generations marching band show.
As a member of the Aylsworth Family, I cannot express how
much the youth of French Lick and West Baden have enriched
our lives. As each group graduates, they leave a little
part of themselves with us. We share a collection of group
memories: triumph, sadness, humor, excitement, disappointment,
anticipation and even frustration. In a few short school
years, we watched them grow, mature and leave to take their
place in the society. Speaking for Gilbert, Helen, Patti,
Luke and Laura, “We thank you for sharing your children
with us". We will always consider them a part of our
family.
GO BLACKHAWK BRIGADE. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
