music returns from 1977; SV High alumni will visit, also
perform

FRENCH LICK, Indiana - In correlation with
the French Lick Sesquicentennial, the Springs Valley Blackhawk
Brigade will recognize all marching band alumni on Oct.
6. In addition, there will be a special recognition of the
1977 State Championship band.
Brigade alumni are invited to attend the
last half-hour of the Blackhawk Brigade’s practice
beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the football stadium. Following
the practice, the Brigade will perform for the alumni and
community beginning at 2 p.m. As well, there will be recognition
of the 1977 band.
Following the ceremonies and performance,
the alumni will have a chance to meet with former director
John Aylsworth in the high school cafeteria. At 3 p.m.,
the Alumni Pep Band will play at the dedication ceremony
for the new statue outside the Springs Valley Gymnasium.
Anyone interested in performing with the
alumni pep band should attend the pep band practice on Oct.
5 in the high school cafeteria. Participants must provide
their own instrument. Alumni may contact Martin Dixon for
more updates.
Alumni Band Schedule:
12:30 - 1 p.m.
Band Alumni are invited to watch the final 30 minutes of
rehearsal at the Springs Valley HS football stadium
2 p.m.
Community Performance and recognition of the 1977
State Championship Band
2:30 p.m.
Alumni may meet and great with John Aylsworth at the high
school cafeteria. Finger food and appetizers will be available.
3 p.m.
Alumni pep band performs at the statue ceremony at high
school gymnasium
